Zephyr Chan

Zephyr Chan is Tea House’s blogger on Buddhism and popular culture and media. She is currently a doctoral student in San Francisco’s California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) focusing on Buddhism’s intersections with shamanism, Chinese philosophy (the Laozi, the Zhuangzi, and the I Ching), and Western philosophy, specifically, the phenomenological tradition. She hopes to write her doctoral dissertation on Tiantai Buddhism’s affinity with the human passions. Her intellectual background is in philosophy and Buddhist Studies. She joined CIIS’s inaugural group of Student Ambassadors for Diversity and Inclusion (SADI) this year.
