Birding

Fragile, shale
hands hold
the womb

wilderness is
born

The Cosmos
Walleyed Pikes
June nights and
the call of Loons

Everything that
we need to dream

To feel
To love

So little
separates
us from what
we need

The night
you were
born

Wearing the
skin of God

The world
was born

My new Cosmos

And by the time
it was written

even Green Heron
in the cool spring marsh
could tell me
