Bread

Contained in a kernel of wheat,
bound by unseen chains of patterns,
each branch comes alive with water
and heat. Alive with the digestion
of the universe. So we pray: Give us
this day our daily bread, and forgive us
our trespasses, as we have forgiven
those who trespass against us, not
knowing how we were made to rise.
