Lord Shiva

we have traveled
ten thousand
dreamless miles
without each other,

in the past,
present, and future, in unknown realms,

unguarded,
in a dungeon of thorns,
by both spirits and men.

Each morning, I sit in envy
of those who knew you rising from your bed,
to place a garland
of Datura fruits around my neck
