Bhikkhu Ven. Sanghasena’s Vesak 2026 Message

Sukho buddhānamuppādo
sukho saddhammadesanā
sukho saṅghassa samaggī
samaggānaṃ tapo sukho.

Blessed is the birth of the Buddhas;
blessed is the enunciation of the sacred Teaching;
blessed is the harmony in the Order,
and blessed is the spiritual pursuit of the united truth-seeker.

On this sacred and most auspicious occasion of 2569th Vesak, we come together to revere the birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinibbāna of our supremely Englightened Lord Buddha—the One who illuminated the path of wisdom, compassion, and liberation for all sentient beings.

On this blessed day, let us contemplate the profound significance of the Buddha’s message—a message that is timeless, yet particularly urgent and relevant in our contemporary world, which is increasingly shaken by hatred, violence, rising inequalities, and ecological destruction.

The Buddha taught that true peace must begin within — through the cultivation of non-violence (Ahimsa), loving-kindness (Metta), compassion (Karuna), and right understanding (Samma Ditthi). These are not weak ideals, but powerful antidotes to the poisons of greed, hatred, and delusion.

Let this Vesak be more than a commemoration. Let it be a commitment: to embodying the Dhamma, to building harmony within our communities, and to standing as beacons of peace in a troubled world. Let monastics and laypeople, leaders and citizens alike, rise together in unity to become walking and talking flowers of the Buddha’s wisdom.

In the face of 3G, 4G, and 5G—let us also not forget “Guruji” (Our Lord Buddha)—the guiding light of inner transformation and spiritual wisdom.

May the spirit of Vesak inspire us to build a more compassionate, peaceful, and sustainable world for all beings.
