Bhutan Buddhist Society of Western Australia to Host HE Ven. Sangay Dorji

The Bhutan Buddhist Society of Western Australia (Khamsum Zilnon Drukpai Lhakhang Inc., or KZDL) is hosting His Eminence Laytshog Lopen Rinpoche’s visit to Australia this year.

The Laytshog Lopen is one of the most senior monastic leaders in the Himalayan constitutional monarchy, second only to the Je Khenpo. Sangay Dorji was the tutor of the future Je Khenpo, Trulku Jigme Choedrak.

In a post on Facebook, KZDL management announced: “We are deeply honoured to share that His Eminence Laytshog Lopen Rinpoche of the Zhung Dratshang will be visiting Australia from 9th May to 9th June 2025.

“During His Eminence Lopen Rinpoche’s auspicious visit, KDZL will be organizing the Zhabdrung Kuchoe, which will include a public display of the Ekazati statue and the Annual Raffle Draw 2025 in Perth, to bring the community together in spiritual practice, prayer, and blessings.

“KZDL Perth will be hosting the opening and closing programmes. The detailed schedule of each of the main events will be shared in the days to come.”

It further notes: “We humbly encourage all members of the Bhutanese community and Dharma practitioners in Australia to participate in these sacred gatherings and receive the profound blessings and teachings from His Eminence Laytshog Lopen Rinpoche. Please stay tuned in for the more details.”
