Jon is a writer, copyeditor, programmer, home cook, aspiring private pilot, and recovering lawyer’s assistant from the USA. He has mastered none of his pursuits but enjoys living a rich life with a learner’s mentality. As a lay Theravada practitioner he is primarily interested in writing about the connections between the texts of Early Buddhism and life in the 21st century. Jon also enjoys thinking about the contemporary role of the Dalai Lama and other global Vajrayana masters, the intersections of cutting-edge technology and Buddhism, and the growth of ecumenical or non-sectarian activity in Buddhist culture. He has been fortunate enough to study under an outstanding Burmese sayadaw.
